Not bad for $2, but there is no way to control the repetition of images. Mazaika is much more sophisticated, and there is a "full" version off their website for $50 (app store has Free and Lite versions). I also tried the free MacOSaiX but it is awful and really slow.

Does what it claims to, however there are really no instruction. But it makes for a really cool picture of pictures.

I like to get my moneys worth and I thought go with the cheap version out there for mosaicing photos and I’m glad I did. It does what it says…note in all making of mosaic photos you need a ton of photos. Don’t waste your time with the more expensive versions.

I used it with Leopard great, but it doesnt support Lion OS.

Couldnt figure out how to use this app. It needs more documentation!

I was skeptical when I first saw this application. The fact that it is 28 dollars less expensive than the other mosaic application offered was worrisome. But this $1.99 application packs a punch. Drag and drop interface and really simple. I dont even know what some of the tools mean, but it was simple to play with adjustments and find what I like. I have a great mosaic of my daughter and Time Magazine, using other covers. Trust me, you will like it, especially if you are a novice.

I cannot get my finished mosaic to export as JPEG, PNG, or BMP. The app crashes every single time I try to export. Im running 1 year old, 8GB MacBook Pro. Ive even tried shutting down all other software while exporting - no good. Other than that one major glitch, the software is great!

great price too. Wish it had some more options though. Still a great buy.

Very poor resolution and looks pixalated like Atari 2600 quality. A bit of a let down.

This is a cool application. It works very well on my machine running OS X 10.8.2. It could be faster exporting, but it is not a huge deal. I would like to be able to change from landscape to portrait though. Im pleased with the results the app produces and Im looking forward to future features.

30 seconds into using the program it crashes. $2.00 gone forever

Wow! Only $2? Amazing. Was easy to take all my vacation photos and create a photo mosaic. Love it!!

When I purchased this it was with some sceptisim seeing as the reviews werent great and the alternatives with $30 more expensive. I couldnt have been more wrong though. This is a fantastic little app and how could any one complain at this price. I just needed a quick and easy way to make a photo mosaic for a presentation. You select the photo or image you want to create and then select a folder of images to build the mosasic from. It works great, has more options than I was expecting to get just the right effect. Highly recommended. Im sure a professional might want more configuration options but for me this was more than enough and good value.

This app beats the $50 apps

This is my first review because this app was *so* good it warrnted me actually spending the time to write this. So easy, so fast. I had many, many gigs of images and it happily mosaiced them in seconds. It can write enormous images -- up to 15,000 pixels on a side. *Exactly* what I needed. Thanks, Mosaik.

Explanation given (you have to look for it in the help section) is cursory and obliquely written. And if you return to the App Store and click on “support” for the app, you simply get to their website which shows their products. No “support.” I have a doctorate (no, not in computer science) and can’t make it work. Complete waste of $2.

This software does exactly what is say it does. And it does it quickly (that is, quickly for an app pushing around several hundered images), and gives you great output. A few minutes after downloading this app I was able to output two images, each 36” x 24” at 415 dpi, each built out of a folder contaning 152 images.

I was looking for a while for the right solution. This program far exceeded my expectations. It’s extremely easy to use and provides enough control to help you fine tune your mosaic to look just how you want. Also, I appreciate how well it runs. I loaded in 470 photos and am only waiting > 2 seconds for the entire image to render (on a Late 2013 MacBook Pro). Amazing app. Can’t recommend it enough.
